How to make bootable USB

All we know that is, to install any OS, we need to burn it on the optical disk before start the installation.
In some cases we need to be special to install the OS on our computers.The cases may as follow....
  • If you don't have any CD/DVD ROM connected to your PC
  • If your CD/DVD drive do not work properly
  • If you don't have the optical disk (CD/DVD) with you, right now
  • If you want to save the money by avoiding the OS installation using optical media.

So, the better way to over come all the above difficulties and to install the OS on your PC is


BOOTABLE USB

Yes, you have a chance to use your USB drive (pen drive) to install the OS on your PC as well as to carry the data. Just follow the instructions bellow to make your pen drive BOOTABLE.

  • Install it and Open.
  • Now connect your pen drive to PC
  • Now the RMPrep USB will show you the pen drive. If not so, Just click the refresh button(or F5).
  • Just be care full while choosing the Drive, choose the pen drive only and not the HDD.
  • In the above figure you can see the numbering fields from 1-6 showed in red circles.
    • 1.Partition size(should be MAX) 2.Volume label(Your choice) 3. Boot loader options(choose first one)  4.files systems and overrides(choose FAT16 for pen drives of size 2GB or less and FAT32 for >2GB ) and tick the BOOT as HDD option 5. leave it as un-tick 6. Prepare Drive(after choosing all the options above click this option to prepare your drive; Note: it will erase all the data on your pen drive ,so backup all data )
  • After clicking the "Prepare Drive",  you will be prompted to proceed and click OK and again OK.
  • Now press the "Install-Grub4Dos" button in the left side. It will install the Grub on to your Pen drive.
  • It will prompt you to proceed . press OK and OK and OK.
Now Download the EASYBOOT here (choose Download v1.51a non-DPMS version) or simply HERE
  • Extract the EASYBOOT zip file to your pen drive and it will ask you for replacing of  glider. press OK.
  • Now your pen drive is ready to install many of the OS's.
  • Just copy and paste the  ISO images of the OS into the corresponding folders (like windows related OS into Windows folder and Linux ISO images into Linux Folder)
  • Finally just run the Contiguous by Pressing the Ctrl+2 or choose Drive-->MAKE ALL FILES ON THE DRIVE CONTIGUOUS option
That's it.....now by enabling the boot through USB option in your PC boot options you can boot on the desired OS which is on your pen drive.
